Lower Antelope Canyon

Alright, there is a lot of debate about which of the Antelope Canyons are better. I only went to Lower Antelope Canyon so I can’t tell you from a first person perspective. BUT I can say that Lower Antelope Canyon is the longer of the two and is less expensive than the upper canyons.

All tours through the Canyons must be booked ahead of time and are guided. Tours are on native land and are all guided by native people. I found this to be the best part - hearing from the people who have lived on the land the longest and all the tales about the different gods. Regardless of what you believe in, it was very cool to see people who treated the land with so much care and were happy to guide you through the canyon.

My tour guide was incredible and shared so much information with my group throughout. She made it a point to show us the best photo locations and would even set people up to capture photos of them. Some of the best photos from this tour were taken by my tour guide!

If you go to Lower Antelope Canyon, be sure to note that videoing in the canyon is not allowed. You also are not allowed to bring bags with you so bring just what you need - your phone or camera.

Check out some of my favorite photos from Antelope Canyon below.
